Description
An early morning image of Half Moon Rock captured from Chimney Rock on a frosty winter morning in the Red River Gorge deep in the Daniel Boone National Forest. Although I've not yet been, many adventurous people have visited the narrow summit of the Half Moon Rock. Truly, Half Moon Rock is only one of many places remaining on my list of attractions to visit in the gorge. Honestly, the Red River Gorge is one of the most remarkable places I've ever had the privilege of frequenting. By the enchanting powers of nature, a hike in the gorge provides an extraordinary mind-healing therapy. Beginning at the parking lot on Chimney Top Rock Road, a short half-mile walk will take you to Chimney Rock Overlook for a breathtaking vista you'll not soon forget. The trail is easily accessible to an average person in decent health. However, take caution due to the risk of falling off the narrow path and unprotected edges. The gorge offers boundless opportunities for adventure seekers, rock climbers, hikers, and photographers. Indeed, the Red River Gorge is a rare and unique place on earth! I plan to return at the first opportunity.
