Description
A wintery image of Red Byrd Arch at the Red River Gorge in the Daniel Boone National Forest. The expedition to capture Red Byrd Arch began in late December and involved a two-mile hike through the snow and ice-covered landscape of the Daniel Boone National Forest. My son and I set up a base camp near the Red River, just below the arch, and spent the night in the gorge to capture the image in the best lighting conditions possible. Indeed, the journey was quite remarkable. The River Gorge is one of the most unique places I've ever visited. A hike in the gorge encapsulates its visitor in the beauty of nature while providing extraordinary mind-healing therapy. Moreover, exploring this vast and majestic countryside is truly a journey through time itself. The gorge offers adventure seekers, rock climbers, hikers, and photographers boundless opportunities. Indeed, the Red River Gorge is a rare and unique place! I always stop in when I'm in the area.
