Description
A sobering image of the Texas A&M Bonfire Memorial captured on an early spring morning. From its origin is 1907, the Bonfire symbolized every Aggie's "burning desire" to beat the University of Texas in football. Except for John F Kennedy's assassination in 1963, the fire raged on every year until November 18, 1999, 2:42 a.m, when a collapse claimed the lives of 12 Aggies and injured 27 others. The memorial stands on the exact location of the fallen 1999 Bonfire.
