Description
A foggy morning over Pinch'em Tight Ridge and Revenuer's Rock. Captured from Chimney Top Rock in the Red River Gorge deep in the Daniel Boone National Forest. The area between the two rocks is Pinch'em Tight Gap. Locals know the cliff to the right as the Hole in the Wall or Revenuer's Rock. The story claims that Revenuer's Rock received its name in the days when revenuers would climb the mountain to scouring the skies below in search of smoky moonshine stills. Indeed, the Red River Gorge is steeped in history and is undoubtedly one of the most remarkable places I've ever had the privilege of visiting. By the enchanting powers of nature, a hike in the gorge provides an extraordinary mind-healing therapy. Beginning at the parking lot on Chimney Top Rock Road, a short half-mile walk will take you to Chimney Rock Overlook. The trail is easily accessible to an average person in decent health. However, take caution due to the risk of falling off the narrow path and unprotected edges. The gorge offers boundless opportunities for adventure seekers, rock climbers, hikers, and photographers. Indeed, the Red River Gorge is a rare and unique place on earth! I plan to return at the first opportunity.
