Description
A sunrise over Wagon Wheel Lake captured on a warm summer morning. This beautiful and tranquil spot is located just off the main road near a graveled parking area at the top of Turkey Mountain Urban Wilderness Area in Tulsa Oklahoma. For avid hikers, if you start from the main entrance at Turkey Mountain, take the blue trail and go north on the path to the left. Following a relatively short, but steep uphill trek to the top of the mountain, you'll arrive at Wagon Wheel Lake. Even though Wagon Wheel Lake is indeed more like a pond, it's still a gorgeous place to visit for a quick break from the trail or an early morning connection with a bit of nature. Combined with a cup of coffee or maybe a cold drink, the lake's convenient park bench provides the perfect detour from the everyday mundane hurdles of life.
