In a secluded and well-hidden location lies another stunning rock formation waiting to be discovered. Sculpted by nature and located near Frenchburg Kentucky, Star Gap Arch is only one of many spectacular arches in the Red River Gorge.
Honestly, the Red River Gorge is one of the most remarkable places I've ever had the privilege of visiting. By the enchanting powers of nature, a hike in the gorge provides an extraordinary mind-healing therapy. Moreover, exploring this vast and majestic countryside is truly a journey through time itself. Locating Star Gap in the dense woodlands of the Daniel Boone National Forest does require a bit of resolve. In fact, while searching for the arch, I encountered several hikers that had abandoned their quest to find this hidden wonder.
Nevertheless, with a little persistence and a good map, Star Gap Arch is merely a 1.5-mile hike from the Auxier Ridge Trailhead near the parking area. Honestly, I would consider most of the trail easily...
Story: As a young man, Michael spent much of his time seeking adventure and exploring the great outdoors. In addition to his affection for nature, he also relished technology and embraced it at every opportunity. In fact, his indoctrination to the Polaroid One Step sparked the beginning of his interest in photography.
