An early morning image of Double Arch captured from the summit of Auxier Ridge in the Red River Gorge. Overlooking the Daniel Boone Nation Forest, Double Arch appears very modest in size. However, only when viewed up close through its large eye can one truly appreciate the enormous scope and elaborate structure of Double Arch. This magnificent arch is only one of many spectacular arches in the Red River Gorge. Honestly, the Red River Gorge is one of the most remarkable places I've ever had the privilege of visiting. By the enchanting powers of nature, a hike in the gorge provides an extraordinary mind-healing therapy.
Moreover, exploring this vast and majestic countryside is truly a journey through time itself. Trekking to the summit of Double Arch requires a modest hike of just over 2.5 miles.
